Sample Submission and Analysis
1. Do I need to submit the samples and application form separately if multiple analysis is required?
Yes! Please submit samples along with duly filled Request Form separately for each analysis technique if multiple analysis is needed.
2. What is the quantity of samples I need to submit for analysis?
The quantity of samples that need to be submitted is given along with details of the instrument.
3. Can I get the samples back after analysis?
Yes! The samples may be returned after analysis at your request. Mention the same at the time of sample submission and pay the additional postal charge if you need to get the sample via Post.
4. Do I need to deliver the sample personally?
It is not mandatory to deliver the sample personally. You can send the sample via Post/ Courier along with duly filled Request forms.
5. Can I get my analysis result over E-mail?
Yes! Please mention your E-mail address in the field provided in the Sample Request Form.
6. How long the sample will be stored in CSIF after analysis?
The sample will be stored for two weeks after analysis. Thereafter the sample will be discarded without any notice.
7. How much time would be taken for the analysis to be conducted after providing the filled Request Forms?
In CSIF we follow the ‘First Come- First Serve’ queue system. So that the time taken for analysis will be according to your position in the queue. You can get this information by intimating with CSIF.
Fee and Payment
1. How do I know the User fee for an Analysis?
User Fee for various Instruments available at CSIF is given under the Charge List tab of this website.
2. What are the procedures for Fee Payment?
User Fee for the Analysis can be made either in Online Mode or Offline Mode
Online Mode:-
Fee can be paid using Calicut University Instant Web Payment System (CUIWPS)

The Fee should be paid under the following Heads
User Fee: CSIF USER FEES
GST (@ 18% of the User Fee): GST001 -- GOODS AND SERVICE TAX
Take the printout of the Challan forms after successful payment and attach them with the Analysis request form.
Offline Mode:-
Fee can be paid at the University Fee Counter available at Tagore Niketan
3. How is the tax amount calculated?
The GST is calculated @ 18% of the Total User Fee.
The Flood Cess is calculated @ 1% of the Total User Fee.
Example:
Let the User Fee of the Analysis be ₹100 and you need to analyse 2 samples
Total User Fee: 2*100= ₹200
GST: 18% of ₹200 (User Fee) is ₹36 (Should be paid under the head GST001 -- GOODS AND SERVICE TAX)
Flood Cess: 1% of ₹200 (User Fee) is ₹2 (Should be paid under the head CESS001 -- FLOOD CESS)
4. Can I remit the fee for analysis without informing CSIF?
No! You must first enquire about the status of the instrument either by visiting our website. Then you can proceed with the payment.
5. If I had made a payment but I don’t want to do the analysis, will I get a refund?
No! Instead you can avail the analysis of another instrument having the same user fee in the same financial year, provided the charges have not changed. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to get a refund from the university finance section. CSIF staff or office do not involve in this process.

1. How do I know about the working status of the Instruments at CSIF?
The Working Status of each Instrument is updated on our website under the Facilities tab. By logging in, you can get the status as well as the detailed specifications of the instruments.
2. Is there any chance to study the working of instruments at CSIF?
CSIF periodically conducts Seminars and Workshops handled by experts on various instruments. You can join these platforms to make use of the facilities at CSIF.
3. Can I use the results for some advertisement purposes?
No! Analysis results from CSIF cannot be used for any Advertisement purposes.
4. Can I use the results for some Legal proceedings?
No! Analysis results from CSIF cannot be used for any legal proceedings.
5. Do I need to acknowledge CSIF in my Thesis and Publications?
It is mandatory to acknowledge CSIF in your Thesis and Publications if you have utilized any of the facilities at CSIF.
